Last Sunday, I received this email in my mailbox.
Being an email nerd, I was intrigued because this looks so much like spam yet the is no-reply@google.com (a notoriously hard address to spoof). I was curious because this looked so much like spam (I never gave my opt-in to Remo, no unsubscribe link, barely any text,…).
My first step was to decide who actually sent the email
These are actually special settings only Google can use in Gmail. So it was really sent by Google.
I find this annoying (it’s spam) and ironic. I’m using Gmail because the spam filter used to be very good, and now it’s under-performing, and they’re actually spamming you.
